Wekan: File Upload MIME Type Validation Bypass — Stored XSS via Missing System Binary Fallback

Wekan is open source kanban built with Meteor. Prior to 9.90, isFileValid() in models/fileValidation.js used the Unix file command for content-based MIME detection, but detectMimeFromFile() silently returned undefined when that binary was unavailable and the validation fell back to the attacker-controlled fileObj.type supplied through server/routes/attachmentApi.js. On deployments with WITH_API=true and no file binary, an authenticated board member could label HTML containing JavaScript as image/png, bypass the dangerous MIME check, and store active content under the Wekan origin for execution when another user opened it. Version 9.90 adds looksLikeDangerousMarkup() to inspect file bytes and force dangerous-content scanning when MIME detection is unavailable. This issue is fixed in version 9.90.

Information Disclosure through Action Parameters in Venafi app for Splunk SOAR

In versions below 2.1.4 of the Venafi app for Splunk SOAR, a user who holds a role with permission to run actions could expose keystore and private-key passwords by invoking the get certificate action, because the action's keystore_password and password parameters are not masked and are shown in cleartext in the user interface. The information disclosure is possible because the app does not mark the affected action parameters as passwords. Cisco Crosswork Security Hardening Release: August 2026

Power System Buffer Overflow

IBM Power Systems Firmware FW1120.00, FW1110.00 through FW1110.30, FW1060.00 through FW1060.80, FW950.00 through FW950.H2, OP940.00 through OP940.a1 (Power9), and OP940.00 - OP940.81 (Power HMC) is affected by a vulnerability in host firmware configuration parsing. SPL Injection through Dashboard Studio Workflow Actions in Splunk Enterprise

In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, a user who holds the "power" Splunk role could store a Dashboard Studio workflow action containing attacker-controlled Search Processing Language (SPL). When another authenticated user selects the action from Event Actions and selects Continue, Splunk Enterprise runs the injected SPL using the permissions of that user. The injected SPL could access or modify data available to that user. The vulnerability is possible because Dashboard Studio does not sufficiently validate workflow-action URLs before submitting requests. The vulnerability requires the attacker to phish the affected user by tricking them into initiating a request within their browser. The user who holds the "power" Splunk role should not be able to exploit the vulnerability at will.

SPL Injection through Monitoring Console Dashboard Inputs in Splunk Enterprise

In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, an unauthenticated user could trick a user who holds the "admin" Splunk role into opening a crafted link to Monitoring Console. When that user opens the link, Splunk Enterprise runs attacker-controlled Search Processing Language (SPL) using the permissions of that user. The injected SPL could expose data available to that user or modify lookup data. The vulnerability is possible because Monitoring Console does not sufficiently validate data used to build dashboard searches. The vulnerability requires the attacker to phish the user by tricking them into opening the crafted link. The unauthenticated user should not be able to exploit the vulnerability at will.
